I don’t limit myself to a certain school or subject but express my ideas in my own ways, be it figurative, landscape or abstract. I use different materials, mainly oils, watercolour, acrylic and mixed media, on a range of surfaces.
British-Sudanese professional artist (painter), graduated from the College of Fine Art, Khartoum, Sudan in the ’70s. Living in Manchester, UK since 1985 when Ahmed came for postgraduate studies in Media of Education.
In the early 1990s he was a founder member of the Southern Voices Project which is concerned with creating bridges between North and South globally, particularly in Education. It aims to bring a positive perspective to the media portrayal of the global South.
Throughout this time Ahmed has been painting, sketching and running education workshops. He has held many exhibitions in Britain and abroad. He is currently a freelance artist and development educator. He works from his studio in Manchester.
