Saoirse looks at Heidegger’s preoccupation with existence and his philosophy that everything speaks for itself. “It will reveal itself to us”, only if we don’t attempt to manipulate and twist it into “our ready-made conceptual strait jackets.” This thinking underlies her practice – art too will show itself.

‘Existence’ and ‘Being’ in the world are themes that determine Saoirse’s work. By exploring tension, balance and disarray through different tones and forms, she shows an evolving, moving self. Amidst this process is her battle of navigating neurodiversity: thoughts, ideas and emotions, intermingling and often random. Painting in oils allows her to slow down, reflect and gives room for breath.

A dialogue then evolves. It is not planned or forced but rather a reaction, a conversation.
