About Kim Smart

Movement and energy is prominent in Kim's work. Her inspiration is taken from the constantly changing natural environment, sound and moving image. Kim has a wonderful ability to transform the movement and energy she sees in the world around her into paintings that replicate and mirror this fluidity. Organic and botanical elements appear to move as you look at  Kim's work reminding you of the natural world evoking feelings of calm.

Originating from a ceramic design background, Kim Smart is a Cheshire based artist who’s work is characterised by bright palettes and hundreds of intricate reflections, inviting the viewer to constantly think beyond the usual boundaries of art.

Her paintings always have storytelling at the heart of each piece. She conveys everyday experiences with abstract botanical & floral inspirations.

Today her vibrant collection of paintings create a tranquil & positive perspective of the world, harnessing the calming effects of nature and nostalgia whilst staying true to the qualities of traditional still life.
