Tammy Walters
Tammy is a contemporary equine artist and illustrator with over 10 years experience working professionally in the UK.
Tammy is an artist and illustrator living her best life in the beautiful Lancashire countryside. She was born just 10 minutes from the famous Aintree Racecourse and feels a life surrounding horses was always her path. As the first grandchild, Tammy used to spend lots of time at her grandparents house. She was introduced to horses at a young age when her granddad used to ask her to pick out a horse from the newspaper, of course she could only see the name and the number and the description of the jockey’s silks. She would always choose the same lucky number 3 and either the pink spots or green stripes, whatever the brightest colour was on the day. Tammy would then watch the race on the tv with her grandad, she would be gripped with excitement watching her horse and willing it on to win the race. It was here that her passion with horses started.
Watching Elizabeth Taylor in the movie National Velvet about a girl who pushed her passion to the limit, created an emotional tie and gave Tammy dreams of riding her own horse over fences into the sunset. She never became a jockey or a show jumper, she did become and artist who falls in love with other people’s horses and paints them for a living. Her life is filled with their beauty and she gets to create works of art that can be loved and kept forever.
With more than 10 years living and working experience as a professional artist in Dubai and Azerbaijan and after raising four children, Tammy set up her Lancashire studio in 2016.
She also volunteers her time and expertise to deliver art therapy sessions to adults with special needs which enriches her mind body and soul.
