Vision and passion for art

The gallery building, with high ceilings supported structurally and aesthetically by green oak trusses and beams, is suffused with natural light which pours through the space, illuminating the artwork and enhancing our artists’ beautifully crafted pieces.

Each element of art or sculpture is thoughtfully displayed, with a biography of the individual artist provided, offering insight into every craftsperson’s vision and passion for their art. We rotate our exhibitions every three months, with each preceded by a preview event, where all attending may connect with the artists in a creative, stimulating, and social setting.

We welcome everyone to Blue & Berry Art Gallery where we offer a warm and friendly environment for all our visitors. We are passionate about establishing genuine relationships between art enthusiasts, collectors, and craftspeople, allowing our visitors to connect with the pieces displayed and the stories behind them to ensure that each purchase is a memorable and enjoyable experience for both artist and buyer.

Blue & Berry Art Gallery is housed in a beautiful oak frame building adjacent to the Egerton Arms Public House. Our collection is diverse and eclectic and when your visit to the gallery is complete, the cosy pub next door will welcome you for refreshments and home cooked food.

You are very welcome to visit the gallery, to spend time viewing the art and simply to enjoy the exhibits.   A varied programme of art workshops will take place, along with cultural and culinary events, and we would be delighted to see you at these events in the near future.

Our inaugural exhibition hosts two distinct groups of practising artists: eight professional exhibitors present their work alongside some of the best emerging graduate artists from the class of 2021 at Manchester School of Art.

This is an exciting and eclectic range of paintings from hugely talented North West artists and emerging stars of the future. Our fundamental principle is to engage the community with some of the best artists in the North of the country and to foster our young talent. We believe that art is for pleasure and enjoyment as well as a potentially important investment.

Come and view the work of all 16 artists in a relaxed and welcoming space, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and a cultural experience in a community art space.

Learn, create, and be inspired, deepening your knowledge of art as you learn new techniques.

Workshops and Events

Blue & Berry works alongside local community groups to engage diverse audiences with contemporary art and culture through participatory projects, workshops, exhibitions and culinary events, playing host to local artisan food producers, distilleries and fine wine companies.

We will host full-day painting workshops, in which participants will learn from a knowledgeable tutor to develop their skills, whilst enjoying a glass of wine and a delicious meal.

Art history, creative writing and literature

We will be running a series of workshops exploring fine art, art history, the contemporary art investment market, literature and creative writing. These workshops will be open to all those who wish to indulge their creativity or develop their understanding and knowledge of aesthetics and culture. Literature workshops will offer enthusiastic readers and writers the chance to study and create works of literature with an experienced tutor, allowing the artistic space at Blue & Berry to inspire reflection, discussion and enjoyment.
