Annabelle Roberts, originally from Dorset, graduated Manchester School of Art with a BA (Hons) Fine Art in 2021. Using oil on canvas, Roberts depicts the entangled configurations of branches, roots and leaves found in woodland, finding inexhaustible sources of inspiration within the natural world. Through photography, Roberts also seeks to capture moments from the natural environment which she can then transform into dynamic, energetic paintings that retain the motion and vibrancy of the natural scenes.
Roberts received the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts prize in 2021.
