Meredith Bloom

The genesis of Meredith’s artwork is emotion.

The genesis of Meredith’s artwork is emotion. Meredith considers what feelings she wants to inspire in the viewer and how she wants her art to impact and enhance the space in which it resides. Once she knows what she wants to encourage the viewer to feel and the ideal space in which it should be placed, she utilise shape psychology, also bringing in inspiration from architecture, to influence her geometric style. In addition, she turns to colour psychology to guide the palette and help her achieve her desired outcome.

Each design is composed of individual, layered, wooden shapes. The 3D strata forms shadows that change depending on the viewer’s perspective, the environment or the angle of light. A key concept of Meredith’s artwork is these transformations, offering the viewer an ever changing vision.

Meredith trained at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London (2007-2008) followed by; Wimbledon College of Art, Set Design for Stage & Screen, London (2008-2011); City University of London, The Business of Visual Arts (2018) and recently completed an Advanced Colour Training Course by Karen Haller (2020).
